Red Beach School takes the chance. By Aimee (Newspaper Report)

On Friday the 22nd of August, Red beach school had arranged their own school Olympics with even an opening and closing ceremony with a real live athlete at each one.

When everyone was settled into the hall we began the opening ceremony. Each community of Red Beach School had researched their culture and dressed up to represent that country when they went up on stage to wave their flag. Then Mark Scheib a K.4 athlete said when ‘I was a young boy my dream was to either to grow and be an all black or to be in the Olympics and win a medal and in Barcelona me and my best buddy remembered the dream they once shared while we were walking round in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.’

Then they split up into groups of two classrooms and took part in different sports that happen in the Olympics, there was Badminton, Archery, Basketball, soccer, shot-put, long jump and many others. Days after the tiring event reporter Aimee Mills interviewed Tayla Karam said ‘My class room 11 studied Samoa and it was very exiting &great but my favorite sport was the basketball.
