Absolutely Amazing Art Attack Auction. By Neil (Newspaper report)

It was a great day today, as Red Beach School held their art auction, the first time in 2 years. This all happened on the 19 and 20th of September, at their hall.

Firstly, as everything starts hard, all the children put in their best efforts to achieve a piece of artwork that they were all proud of. They were then left to put up in the auction. The art included Venice Masks, Dream Time, Tapa Cloths, Clowns and Pottery Fish.

Next, the hall was changed to look a bit like an actual art gallery. Boards and Carpet were brought in to make the dramatic effect happen. Finally, the art was brought in and stapled to the boards. Worker Graham Townsend had this to say “It was hard work putting up all those art”.

When the actual hall opened to the public, most of the parents had already arrived and were bidding consistently. The Art Attack was a big success and some art like Ruben Wiki and Barbara Kendall’s drawings sold for a lot. The Auction closed with around $18,000 being raised.

Child artist, Neil Lindsay said “I’m glad to make art that raises money for the school”
